Flanders Welcomes 11th World Choir Games
20 years after the foundation of the World Choir Games in Austria, the international choral world will celebrate the world’s largest international choir competition this summer in the heart of Europe. Antwerp and Ghent are the main hosts for the World Choir Games 2020.
The World Choir Games invites all non-professional choirs of the world to participate. The Games offer fair and realistic competition to experienced competitive choirs as well as choirs with relatively little international experience.
The World Choir Games are taking place every two years on different continents. The idea to create an event like this is based on the Olympic ideals, which aim to peacefully unify people and nations connected by song in a fair competition. This idea is supposed to inspire people to experience the power of interaction by singing together. Unrelated to artistic levels, this approach challenges personality and team spirit likewise.
