Gruuthuse Manuscript Back in Bruges

The Gruuthuse manuscript, compiled in Bruges around 1400 and containing, among other things, the oldest collection of Dutch songs with musical notation, has been sold in 2007 to the National Library of the Netherlands in The Hague. It will be back in the Gruuthuse Museum in Bruges for an exhibition, called Love and Devotion (till 23 June 2013). The manuscript provides fascinating insights into cultural, religious and political life in late-mediaeval Bruges.
