The Flemish artist Patrick van Caeckenbergh has constructed a fantastic mental world in mixed media to protect himself against the lacklustre outside world. ‘Melancholy' seems to be a fitting word to describe his work: the ‘Sehnsucht' hankering for the world of creative chaos.
