Proud of the Netherlands?

A personal account of Dutch 'nationalism' by the author, a Dutch correspondent in Brussels: 'In Brussels, I came into contact with Flemings who turned out to know the Netherlands quite well, and who often thought differently about this. The word ‘identity' is somewhat abstract for the type of conversation I had; but, I discovered, people certainly think we are nationalistic and chauvinistic. And rowdy. And, I now realise, they are right.'
