The oeuvre of the Flemish sculptor Oscar Jespers (1887-1970) can easily be divided into a number of periods. From Impressionism he moved to Cubism, Expressionism. The respect for the unique character of the material – stone, wood, clay – would lead to the emergence of a highly personal oeuvre.
