At the beginning of his essay the author descends the majestic stairs of Antwerp Central Station, ‘the Cathedral of the Tracks'. Then he tells us he collects stations and shares some Flemish stations from that collection with the reader. He ends his written journey in a suburban train full of exhausted commuters. At his destination there is a tarmac platform, a shelter with broken windows, an empty car park. And there is his trusty bicycle. The train disappears into the night.
